Oceanside, Oregon

Can you believe that it is January 12th, 2012. Warm, no wind, clear sky, slight green flash at sunset.

Hawaii is about 4000 miles away but right now we're very happy!

Tuesday walk

Today Sam, Emory and I walked from Kenton district on Denver to PIR and Delta Park golf course across the bridge at the, hold your nose, sewer plant. Actually it has zero odor and while crossing the bridge I spied this spider web in the damp fog. How do they do this?

Home

We are home but already are missing the warm tropical winds an even the rains. The trip home was very good except no jet stream wind to speed us along. It took an additional 15 minutes because of that. We were lucky enough to have a great sunset at 37,000 feet! Hope you like it also.

Leaving Kaua'i, Hawaii

Well, our time has come to leave this paradise. We've had a great time. Would you believe it but it rained so hard sandbags were put out at
the hotel lobby and the swimming pool was overflowing.
We are at the Lihue airport now waiting
for our flight to Honolulu.
Someday we may get back to this area. I am going to post some pictures of some flowers that in our area we ca only dream of and of course another chicken. The chickens were released in 1992 during a hurricane. Many thousands wander freely on all places.

Friday, our last full day

We woke up to a heavier rain than we have seen this week and we have had heavy rain, at times all week. This was a real drencher. Sandbags at the lobby of the Marriott Waiohai Beach entry to keep the lobby dry. What a nice week of vacation in spite of rain we've had.
Today Bob and Dorothy wanted to just lay back so Dar and I went to Koloa Town. Lunch was some of the best and fish and chips. Huge pieces of mahi-mahi, thick and delicious. when we got back Bob and Dorothy were ready to snorkel so off we went. Saw many of the same types of fish but a couple new ones also.
Dinner was at a restaurant very near
our timeshare unit.
We have most things packed and ready for departure. See you all very soon.

One thing I have forgotten to mention are all the chickens that are all over the island. We even saw them at 4000 foot level of Waimea Canyon. All they want is a handout of anything edible, if nothing is offered they seek out another pigeon. Pun was intended. We have them on our deck and on chairs all the time.

Rain

Still waiting for the rain to STOP!
